A most intriguing book and debut." – Kirkus Reviews, starred review

ROOKIE YEARBOOK TWO: The Awesomeness Continues

ROOKIE YEARBOOK TWO: The Awesomeness Continues

We're totally in awe of Tavi Gevinson. When she was 14 she founded RookieMag.com, an independent online magazine made by and for teenage girls. Full of personal essays, advice about style, sex, friends and school, gorgeous photo albums (lots of fashion, natch), it's no wonder that it hit one million page views just six days after its debut! Since then, Rookie's contributors and interviewees have grown to include prominent popular culture fixtures such as Joss Whedon, Miranda July, Jon Hamm, Zooey Deschanel, David Sedaris, John Waters, Dan Savage, and Ira Glass, to name a few. No wonder Rookie now averages 1.2 million visits per month (and counting) and has 205,000 Tumblr followers!

Rookie Yearbook OneLast year's ROOKIE YEARBOOK ONE is like a greatest hits album full of amazing stuff—honest articles, fashion shoot photos, and glittery teen world gems (ie: stickers!). There was so much awesomeness that clearly another book needed to be made.

Enter ROOKIE YEARBOOK TWO, available now from Drawn & Quarterly. This sophomore collection is just stunning as the first, and filled with even more exclusive content, such as contributions from Judy Blume, Lena Dunham, Mindy Kaling, Morrisey, Emma Watson, Molly Ringwald, Carrie Brownstein, and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Of course, there's also more advice, tons of pics, and lots of humor and pathos. In other words, everything a teenage girl thinks and cares about.

Win a copy of BEFORE I DIE for your library

Anne Before I DieWhen artist Candy Chang painted the side of an abandoned building with chalkboard paint and the wrote the words, "Before I die, I want to ______," she never expected it to become a worldwide phenomenon. Within a day of the wall’s completion, however, it was covered in colorful chalk dreams as people stopped and reflected on their lives. Since then, more than two hundred walls have been created by people all over the world.

BEFORE I DIE is a celebration of people's hopes, fears, humor, and heartbreak, and serves as a reminder of our shared connections and a chance to contemplate life's most important question.

Anne shared her thoughts with her Macmillan colleagues in a piece to be featured on Buzzfeed:

"Before I die, I want to do stand-up comedy at an open mic night."

Vampires + Dystopia + Paranormal = Good Teen Reads!

Can't get enough of vampires, dystopian societies, or paranormal romances? Great! We've got three teen titles that are perfect for you:

REVEALED by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
House of Night fans will be chomping at the bit to get the spellbinding eleventh and penultimate installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling vampire series. The action is more intense and the stakes even higher as Zoey and her friends battle to protect their school and home from devastating evil—all while balancing romances, precarious friendships and the daily drama of the House of Night's halls.

MIDNIGHT CITY by J. Barton Mitchell
LORD OF THE FLIES meets WAR OF THE WORLDS in Mitchell's breathtaking first book of the Conquered Earth series. Earth has been conquered by an alien race known as the Assembly. They keep humans subservient with a powerful, telepathic super-signal broadcast—except it doesn't affect anyone under age twenty, which makes children and teens the only resistant group left to fight. "Mitchell's prose debut, the first in a dystopian sci-fantasy series, is an imaginative mix of danger and humor... The action will keep readers turning the pages." — Kirkus Reviews

DEATH AND THE GIRL HE LOVES by Darynda Jones
In the third book in Jones's young adult series, Lorelei McAllister leaves the sanctity of her hometown for a boarding school in order to save her friends from certain doom. But even there she's being watched and must face the fact that people want her dead. Good thing she's got the handsome Angel of Death and a ragtag group of loyal supporters to help protect her.
