Adrienne Young’s latest YA novel takes us back to the world of The Narrows—several years before the events of FABLE and NAMESAKE—to tell the story of Fable’s parents as their love story begins.

Both Saint and Isolde are running from something. Isolde is on the run from her powerful mother and her expectations for Isolde. Saint is running from his guilt about his father’s death, and toward the destiny his father always wanted for him: to be a shipmaster and trader. They are both keeping secrets (the least of which is their real names), but when their paths intertwine and secrets are revealed, it becomes clear that they must learn to trust each other if they have any hope of achieving their dreams.

Adrienne Young’s world of The Narrows is one of my favorites to explore, so I was thrilled to return to the world (plus now there’s a map!). Young has established herself as a masterful storyteller, and SAINT is no exception. This prequel is exquisitely written and utterly captivating, perfect for both new fans and returning readers. Each character is so richly developed and the slow-burn romance between Saint and Isolde is rife with yearning glances and swoony feelings. Fans of sea adventures like ALL THE STARS AND TEETH by Adalyn Grace or TO KILL A KINGDOM by Alexandra Christo, as well as readers of Holly Black and Leigh Bardugo, will love this immersive tale from a beloved fantasy author.

Happy reading!
