Jennifer Saint has established herself as an expert at retelling Greek myths from a feminist perspective and elevating the voices of women.

In her newest novel, ELEKTRA, she reimagines the myth of the House of Atreus from the viewpoints of three women: Clytemnestra, wife of Agamemnon; Cassandra, princess of Troy; and Elektra, daughter of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon. They must each confront the curse they carry in order to break the cycle of violence, but fate is a powerful thing.

“Saint enriches the tense story with psychological depth…The author also does a splendid job managing the timeline, with rich and sustained scenes and seamless jumps. Out of a canonical myth, Saint has built a commanding story of rebellious women.”–Publishers Weekly, starred review

“Saint skillfully weaves the Greek mythology of heroism and revenge into whole cloth, making the fabric of interactions among humans and gods compelling and entertaining as she shows us that women often get the blame for men’s (and gods’) actions. Sisterhood is required for survival.”–Library Journal
