Welcome back to the Magnificent North! Step into the cozy, warm Hollow’s tavern and you’ll find Jacks and Evangeline, who are finally embracing their happily ever after. Surely nothing can go wrong, and surely no one is keeping a secret… except for maybe one person. And there’s certainly no way this secret will alter history or change the happy ending of Jacks and Eva’s story… right?

Evangeline has been preparing for the Hollow’s Grand Reopening and First Annual Happy Hollowfest Holiday for months, and tomorrow is finally the big day! For some last minute prep, she’s taking a trip into town with LaLa (her best friend, and a Fate just like Jacks) to do some shopping. This is when they stumble upon the grand opening of The Emporium of Else—a new place to get all of your whimsical and magical goods. But when Evangeline loses sight of LaLa and gets lost in the store, she accidentally stumbles upon a room that holds a magic mirror… one that can show you the other endings your life could have, had you taken a different path. She knows better than to mess with fairy magic, but she’s just too curious to know what else could be out there, so she takes the risk. Now, Jacks must find a way to get her out of the alternate world she’s stuck in, to find her way back to him.

If you know me, you know that I’ll read anything Stephanie Garber writes—I’d probably even read her grocery list. So when I found out about THE MIRROR OF INFINITE ENDINGS, it was probably the best moment of my year. I’ve been waiting to return to Eva and Jacks for years, and I was thrilled I’d finally get to re-enter the world of the Once Upon a Broken Heart series, just as I had been to return to the Caraval series with the release of SPECTACULAR in 2024. I could truly read stories set in this world forever, and never get tired of it—if I could choose to live in any book world, it would most definitely be the Magnificent North. Stephanie Garber’s writing is so immersive, bringing this bright and colorful storybook world to vivid life on every page. I could see the spring flowers blooming in the garden of the inn, feel the wind swirling around the tavern, and smell the honey pie, berry porridge, and brambleberry crisps being served up. And who can forget about the little baby dragons and their dragon-roasted apples?

THE MIRROR OF INFINITE ENDINGS was the perfect spring read, and the perfect return to a wonderful, magical world. I absolutely loved getting to spend more time with LaLa and Chaos and see more of their story, and learning about the fairy lore of the Magnificent North was fascinating. This is a story that has vampires, fairies, mini dragons, dangerous bargains, rescue missions, and a whole lot of love—everything you could ever want. Not to mention the incredible illustrations! The pages within the story are so incredibly beautiful, created by a fan favorite illustrator, and the story is made even more complete with additional designed letters, invites, and notes.

If you are a fan of the wonderful worlds of Stephanie Garber’s work, you will want to pick this up as soon as you can. I miss the world already, and I can’t wait to reread it again whenever I start to miss Eva and Jacks.

Happy reading!
