It's Friday the 13th! Aaah! Keep calm, and remember the commandments from horror movies:

  1. Don't party too hard
  2. Don't split up to investigate strange noises, and
  3. For Pete's sake, don't just stand there if a killer comes at you. RUN!

It's only right that today our #FridayReads involve murder and mystery (interestingly enough, both victims in our books die from being stabbed to death):

Talia's glad she's not in New York while reading

CROOKED NUMBERS by Tim O'Mara

Raymond Donne’s former student Douglas Lee had everything going for him thanks to a scholarship to an exclusive private school in Manhattan, but all of that falls apart when his body is found below the Williamsburg Bridge with a dozen knife wounds in it. Now Ray must draw on his past as a cop to find the truth. “O’Mara never hits a wrong note in his suspenseful sequel to Sacrifice Fly.”   Publishers Weekly (starred review)

Anne's got the door locked and lights on to read
ACCUSED by Lisa Scottoline
Longtime fans (Anne included) are delighted that the ladies from Rosato & Associates law firm are back with a new adventure. In ACCUSED, Mary DiNunzio takes on an underdog of a case from an unexpected client: thirteen-year-old Allegra Gardner. Allegra's sister was murdered and the accused, Lonnie Stall, was seen fleeing the scene with blood all over him; most damningly, he pleaded guilty. But Allegra believes Lonnie is innocent and has been wrongly imprisoned. Now it's up to the team of unstoppable female lawyers, plus one thirteen-year-old genius, to find out if justice was really served all those years ago.

On a lighter note, don't forget that today is the last day to enter the sweepstakes for ALL OUR PRETTY SONGS! You could be one of 20 people to win a copy of this amazing teen title for your collection. Click here for more details.
