Inspired by Henry III, Blackwood’s world is full of court intrigue, a power-hungry king, and an atmospheric setting. I also loved the musical elements that made the world come to life! The vivid prose really allowed me to become absorbed in the story and picture how the magic stitched itself together through song.
And as for the romance, readers will clamor for the tension and kismet connection between Calliope and Beric. From their very first meeting and their fun bickering to the evolution of their relationship and individual character growth, their dynamic is what truly drew me through the story.
Fans of FOR SHE IS WRATH by Emily Varga, as well as the Throne of Glass and Shadow and Bone series, will be spellbound.
