2013 National Book Critics Awards Finalists

The National Book Critics Circle has named the finalists for its best books of 2013 and Macmillan is thrilled to have nine nominees from Farrar, Straus & Giroux and Bloomsbury!

2013 Goodreads Choice Awards

Goodreads launched their annual Choice Awards this week and we're very proud to say that Macmillan has 20 nominees in the Opening Round! Click here to vote for your favorites (we know you've got plenty on this list) and we'll provide updates as the tournament progresses.

Update 12/3: ELEANOR & PARK is voted Best Young Adult Fiction of 2013!

Update 11/18: More than 1.3 million people have voted for their favorite books in the Goodreads Choice Awards so far and Macmillan still has 15 nominees in the running! This week is the final round (through Monday, Nov. 25), so don't delay and make your vote count!

The 2013 Longlist for the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence

The 2013 longlist for the second annual Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction has been announced!

The following titles published and distributed by Macmillan were in good company on this incredibly fine list of literature:

According to the ALA website "The Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction were established in 2012 to recognize the best fiction and nonfiction books for adult readers published in the U.S. the previous year." Read more about this award in American Libraries Magazine.

The short list (only six titles) will be released in April and the two winners will be announced on June 30th at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago. We can't wait!
