ON IMMUNITY by Eula Biss
Buzzed about early in the BEA Librarians’ “Shout ‘n Share,” National Book Critics Circle Award-winner Biss’s investigation about why we fear vaccines has three starred reviews, including this one from Booklist: “Artfully mixing motherhood, myth, maladies, and metaphors into her presentation, Biss transcends medical science and trepidation.”
NIGHT BLINDNESS by Susan Strecker
Another BEA “Shout ‘n Share” pick is Strecker’s debut novel about a woman who returns home to take care of her ill father but is haunted by a horrible accident from her past. “Debut novelist Strecker presents an impressive story filled with moving characters and the raw emotions they go through.” — Library Journal
