Holiday Reads

Welcome to Wednesday!
It is my pleasure to share with you Macmillan’s many wonderful holiday-themed titles.
Though I am a Festival of Lights (aka Hanukkah) kinda gal, Christmas is my favorite time of year.  I had my first taste of Eggnog (it may have been spiked!) during Thanksgiving and I am hooked! And is there anything better, my dear librarians, than Peppermint Bark? Marathon viewings of ELF and lots of presents — that’s how we celebrate at the Sherer household.

Thriller Thursday (10/23/14 Edition)

Today’s #ThrillerThursday picks will also tickle your funny bone:

SEVENTH GRAVE AND NO BODY by Darynda Jones
Hot on the heels of the May LibraryReads pick SIXTH GRAVE ON THE EDGE comes the next installment of Darynda Jones’ laugh-out-loud bestselling paranormal series. This time PI/Grim Reaper Charley Davidson is battling demons who have escaped to Earth AND searching for her father, who’s vanished during an investigation. Plus trouble is coming right at her hot fiancé.

THE NIGHTINGALE BEFORE CHRISTMAS by Donna Andrews
In the 18th(!) Meg Langslow mystery, Meg’s Mother ropes her into volunteering at a big Christmas-themed decorator show house. When an unfortunate designer turns up dead and Mother is the prime suspect, it’s up to Meg to catch the real killer. “The small town of Caerphilly, VA, and its inhabitants provide a charming backdrop for this Christmas cozy.” — Library Journal
