ANNE’S BACK!!!

Dearest Librarians,
Once again, I’m baaaaack!! My maternity leave flew by and while it was bittersweet to leave baby Martin and big brother Daniel this morning, I’m so excited to be back and working with all of you again.

Now you might think I spent the last 3 months in a haze of snuggly cuddles and making fun family memories with trips to the beach, the zoo, and going apple picking (and you’d be right), but I also read a LOT:

EXPOSED by Lisa Scottoline
CLASS MOM by Laurie Gelman
SOURDOUGH by Robin Sloan (a LibraryReads pick!)
DEAR FAHRENHEIT 451: Love and Heartbreak in the Stacks by Annie Spence (another LR pick you loved!)
FRESH COMPLAINT by Jeffrey Eugenides
THE ESSENCE OF MALICE by Ashley Weaver
THE GREAT ALONE by Kristin Hannah
FORCE OF NATURE by Jane Harper
A DANGEROUS CROSSING by Ausma Zehanat Khan
GIRLS BURN BRIGHTER by Shobha Rao
THE HUSH by John Hart
GLIMPSE by Jonathan Maberry
BROKEN ICE by Matt Goldman
JAR OF HEARTS by Jennifer Hillier

And while we didn’t publish them, THE HATE U GIVE by Angie Thomas and YOU WILL KNOW ME by Megan Abbott (currently reading) are so, SO good. Happy reading, friends.

Cheers,
Anne

Dog Dish of Doom: An Agent to the Paws Mystery by E.J. Copperman

“Admirers of old comedy sketches and anyone looking for a laugh-out-loud mystery should pick up this series launch.”–Library Journal, starred review

“Well-drawn characters, including a heroine who talks directly to the reader, and effectively framed with details of the theater enhance this humorous cozy.”–Booklist

Exposed: A Rosato & DiNunzio Novel by Lisa Scottoline

“A stellar demonstration of the proposition that although it can’t bring back the dead, ‘justice was still the best consolation prize going.’ The final curtain will find you cheering, and Scottoline will have earned every hurrah.”–Kirkus Reviews, starred review

“A quick, thrilling read for legal-drama fans that is both educational and full of twists and turns.”–Booklist

Best Intentions by Erika Raskin

A fast-paced novel about a hospital social worker, her struggling marriage, and the mysterious death that thrusts her under a dangerous spotlight.

“A well-detailed legal drama held together by engrossing depictions of relationship strife, both personal and professional.”– Publishers Weekly

GLASS HOUSES by Louise Penny
When a mysterious figure appears on the village green on a cold November day in Three Pines, Armand Gamache, now Chief Superintendent of the Sûreté du Québec, knows something is seriously wrong. But, legally, all he can do is watch and wait. “Penny has a permanent spot on that enviable short list of writers who combine unwavering quality with mega-sales.” — Booklist, starred review

EMMA IN THE NIGHT by Wendy Walker
Two starred reviews for bestselling and LibraryReads author Walker’s new thriller about two missing sisters and what happens when only one returns. “Walker’s second thriller delves into dark territory, pitting a fully dimensional cast of clever, damaged characters against each other in high-stakes mind games. Both twisted and twisty, this smart psychological thriller sets a new standard for unreliable narrators.” — Booklist, starred review

GONE GULL by Donna Andrews
In the 21st entry in this series, Meg Langslow is helping her grandmother at the Biscuit Mountain Craft Center for the summer when a body turns up. “Fans will find all the beloved hallmarks of this award-winning series: fresh characters, an engaging puzzle, and delightful humor.” — Library Journal

GONE TO DUST by Matt Goldman
The debut PI murder mystery from Goldman features an unusual crime—a murdered woman is covered in dust from hundreds of vacuum cleaner bags. “Emmy Award-winning writer Goldman (for Seinfeld and Ellen), who began his career as a stand-up comedian, not surprisingly blends his storytelling with irreverent humor. His tough yet vulnerable PI, evocative Minneapolis setting, and clever plot, which features a distinctive crime scene and multiple red herrings, will engage and intrigue.” — Library Journal, starred review & debut of the month
