Thriller Thursday (5/19/16 Edition)

thrillerthursdayThese new #ThrillerThursday mysteries will have you raving (in a good way):

BOAR ISLAND by Nevada Barr
In her 19th adventure, Anna Pigeon has taken over as acting chief ranger at Acadia National Park in Maine, where she must help her friend’s daughter, who is an unfortunate victim of cyber-bullying and stalking. “As in the previous mysteries, a dramatic landscape is a major presence. An aging Anna is becoming less of a superwoman, and making room for other characters. The book’s release is well timed for this year’s National Park Service centennial celebration.” — Library Journal, starred review

MORGUE: A Life in Death by Vincent DiMaio & Ron Franscell
Two stars for this “engrossing look behind the headlines of notorious homicides” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) from one of the world’s most celebrated medical examiners. “Fans of the TV shows CSI, Bones, or Quincy, M.E., will love this book.” — Booklist, starred review

THE SILENT DEAD by Tetsuya Honda
One of Kaite Stover’s Booklist She Reads: “Global Women of Mystery” picks! “Making its U.S. debut, this Japanese best seller is finely tuned, with extreme twists and surprises. Honda has created a powerful protagonist in Lt. Himekawa, who will leave readers wanting more. This fun summer escapade will be savored by mystery and suspense readers.” — Library Journal, starred review

MERCY by Michael Palmer & Daniel Palmer
A riveting new medical thriller from the critically acclaimed novelists. “Ample, plausible twists combined with well-developed characters add up to a superior thriller that grapples with the ethics of euthanasia.” — Publishers Weekly, starred review readmoreremove
