AugustenBurroughs-giveawayHey, look who dropped by the Flatiron: Augusten Burroughs! He’s here to celebrate the publication of his first new memoir in nearly a decade, LUST & WONDER.

Augusten even signed one book and one audiobook to give away to two lucky librarians!

To enter the giveaway, simply email Library@MacmillanUSA.com from your professional/library-issued e-mail address (subject: Lust & Wonder) by Saturday, April 30. Make sure to include your library’s mailing address to be placed in the random drawing. Check the fine print after the break.

UPDATE 5/2/16: Congratulations to our winners, Sharon Hutchinson, Keytesville Public Library MO & Sarah Nagle, Carver County Library MN

The April 2016 Indie Next selection and USA Today New & Noteworthy pick is racking up major media reviews with NPR’s “All Things Considered” and an Associated Press review still to come:

“[Burroughs] has given us the gold standard of snark, rants and monologues a stand-up comic could envy… LUST & WONDER picks up the tale of Burroughs’s post-rehab, 1990s love like in New York City, where his self-sabotaged, romantic belly flops prompt the vinegar-dipped pen to flow again—a welcome return to form… Fans will cheer.” — New York Times Book Review

Burroughs’ witty, dead-on observations about everything from hapless therapists to petty impediments to love (finding fault with the tiniest lines around a boyfriend’s eyes) make every sentence an adventure. It isn’t even a spoiler to say that there’s a deliciously happy ending.” Oprah.com

Augusten Burroughs is back! Longtime fans of the memoirist are going to be over the moon with this new work and with how the fearlessly candid author, most famously of RUNNING WITH SCISSORS, manages to reveal still more of himself. In an era of tedious oversharing, the memoirist who wrote two of the genre’s defining titles reminds us yet again why he is an unstoppable force.”

“A satisfying success story from a reliably outspoken raconteur.”
